Growenoldengruven © 1979/1997 RFRussell <— Back to CD indexComin' to now, it's been a long cold lonely winter Beginning to see through illusions I have had I remember sometime somewhere someone once told me "Just take it easy, son, and do the best you can" Well, that's very good advice early in the morning And very good advice late at night But in between times I get tangled up In all the knots I've tied I'm just looking for something I can grow old doing Looking for something I can grow old doing Looking for something to grow old doing I have spent time in some strong southern sunshine And I've lived my life in the grey shades of rain And it's clear that everywhere I find people filled with answers It just fills me up with questions again Sends me travelling It's harder to stand up on the truth Than to let the river wash you down And it's harder still to walk out of the rule Than to let the currents turn you around So you better find something you can grow old doing What are you gonna grow old doing? We all gotta grow old doing something So I packed my time and moved up into the mountains Yeah, me and my fingers we were livin' alone ‘Til we got lonesome and now we're here all together Taking our time, growin' old So maybe that's it Looking is something I can grow old doing Learning is something I can grow old doing Loving is something I can grow old doing Listening is something I can grow old doing Practicing something I can grow old doing And, Lord willing, I‘m gonna grow old doing something |
