Richard, I know now that I am the one I have been waiting for, and thank you for that message and so many others that I continue to draw on, like fresh water from the well. Another favorite of mine is “there’s no present like the time.” I truly feel blessed by your great presence in my humble life. I am in awe of the life you have carefully created and the numerous lives you have touched and no doubt continue to inspire and uplift, just by being you. By embracing “both and,” by being an independent thinker, by engaging in generous acts of kindness including radical creativity, integrity in business and all things, encouragement, opportunity for expression, community support, or just sharing a spark in conversation.
I put together this (likely too long – sorry/not sorry) video that is a combination of moments that show witness to your abundant reflective capacity for love, light (shining like the sun!) and community inter-weaving here in Hawaii, along with beautiful landscapes & abstractions that you seem to speak through to me, as I take you with me in my heart and mind.
The soundtrack includes a portion of a 17 minute piano piece Mateo wrote when he was 14, titled “Epic,” which seems well suited for you. Others appearing in the video include Mina Lee (Mahina), Tom Gomes, Gina Salà and the talented members of your band, as well as Anthony, and some of the keiki of Kohala dancing hula with kumu Leia Lawrence.
I can’t express enough how deeply grateful I am to enjoy you as a friend in music, healing arts (yoga & energy work/massage) and my passion project for 8 years (Keiki Yoga Kohala) of which you and Jileen generously contributed to on many levels.
I am a better person because of you! Additionally, Mateo is the musician he is today in part because of you. We are all blessed to know you and love you. Keep on shining like the radiant sun you are! May you feel infinite support and love that is all around you and within you during your healing, and may your health be fully restored! Shanti om!
