Aloha, Richard: Most mornings my routine includes listening to the album "Paniolo Son," by Jeff Peterson, the talented slack key guitarist from Maui. I often think of you when hearing his music because of your's & Jileen's majestic ranch on the Big Island; in addition to the fact my first dinner with you and Jileen in 2000 was at Seattle's Wild Ginger Restaurant which later opened the Triple Door music hall where I first heard Jeff Peterson perform his magical music with the legendary Keola Beamer. All good music, all good friendships, and all good memories come together through you, Richard. Love you, from another Richard

I appreciate the way you brought community together through music. You taught me Jazz on a new subtle and deeper level.... sending love. --Jonathan Brooke

Aloha my beautiful brother Richard. I am just now hearing the news of what you are now dealing with. I am deeply sorry to hear this. I have experienced you as someone in my life who has given some of the best experiences life has to offer to me and many others and you deserve nothing but that in return. The Muse album we did for our brother Jesse is one of the highlights of my entire career, and we have only you to thank for that. We haven't spent a ton of time together you and I, but from the time we have spent together I can say without reservation, I love and appreciate you beyond words. Your generosity, your support of artists, your own artistry, your relentless consistency, all have provided so much comfort to me over the years. I am praying that you are seeing yourself as we all see you and that you continue to be surrounded by all the love humanity has to give. I hope to be able to see you brother.

Love, Michael
