A song I wrote for Julie that's now also for you because I am always thinking of you dear friend. We just finished recording the harmonica track with Howard Levy, so you are the first to hear it in final form (though still a rough mix). Wrote it with 3rd graders in the most impoverished section of DC. These beautiful children must have channelled Julie. Turns out it was my anniversary with Julie. When i told them Julie had passed, they all gathered around me and gave me a great big hug.

We send you great big hugs, dearest Richard. --Paul Reisler

Always Thinking Of You by Paul Reisler, Heather Mae, and Orr Elementary 3rd graders

Lyrics:

I didn’t wait for a holiday

Or tie it in a bow

I didn’t put it in a box

But I wanted you to know

Just how much I love you

Just how much I care

I hold you in my heart

And I’m always thinking of you

Every time I see your face

My heart beats like a drum

Your voice the sweetest symphony

You are the tune I hum

You’re my evening prayer

The one that makes us two

I hold you in my heart

And I’m always thinking of you

You’re as beautiful as the sun

Setting in the west

You are the road that leads me home

My answer’s always yes

On this anniversary I’ll be celebrating you

I hold you in my heart

And I’m always thinking of you

I hold you in my heart

I hold you in my heart

I hold you in my heart

And I’m always thinking of you

This is for Zac and Richard. Mike Olofsson is standing next to Richard. Richard made my day attending my retirement party on March 19th. I’ll always remember this day. Keeping Richard in my prayers. --Carolyn Stewart

Dear Richard,  My heart is heavy and sad to hear your news.  I  pray for your comfort and peace.  It seems like yesterday when I met you and Dion in June of 1962 before our wedding and what a handsome boy participated in our July 28, 1962 event.  I have attached a picture from the wedding and hope it comes through intact.  That was the beginning of 56 1/2 years of joy ending in a painful loss but I treasure our lives together and my wonderful connection with the Thompson family, a family that I love.  Thank you for being Richard and following your heart and for being a loving father and husband. I am too familiar with your illness, I lost my father at 91 and my brother at 60 from pancreatic cancer.

I offer my love and support to you, Jillian, and Zac,  --Uncle Jack
