Killing the Blues

Today I was remembering hearing you and Richard singing Killing the Blues in the intimacy of Alisaz' cabin on a wonderful summer evening. That brought to mind so many other moments in that voyage. An especially vivid one was both you and I up early standing on the deck when we heard a very loud sound. We were anchored offshore (and I suspect you remember the name of the spot, but I don't right now). Suddenly the distance between shore and the boat didn't seem all that large as we watched the start of a rockslide begin high up on the nearby peak. The suspense was palpable as it gathered both momentum and mass only to be checked by other bolders and shrubs and quiet resumed. We looked at each other with both amazement, relief and joy. Love you, Helen Scholtz
